Classic Scottish Ballads with Chris Miles & Gearaidh Matthews

Hear classic Scottish ballads stirringly sung by Chris Miles in an intimate house concert setting. Chris hails from Fyfe, Scotland and she has a deep connection with the tradition. She has sung with luminaries such as Gordeanna McCulloch, Maureen Jelks and Aileen Carr. She’s also an organizer of the Fife Traditional Singing Weekend. And although she would be too modest to mention it in company, she has been awarded MBE for services to education and young people. Chris will be accompanied by her partner, the fine Irish traditional-style guitarist Gearaidh Matthews.
On Saturday, September 10 at 7:30 pm, Chris and Gearaidh will be in Edgewater, MD, at the home of Dennis and Michele Callaghan. For reservations (required) and information, contact Michele at callagh@verizon.net or 240-305-4263. Doors will open at 7:00 for pre concert socializing.
