From Raw to Refined: How a Recording Comes to Life in Real Time
August 5 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM CDT$10
Spektral Quartet will present a behind-the-scenes look at recording and mixing classical music, led by their recording and mixing engineer, Dan Nichols (Aphorism Studios). The class will take you from the raw audio stage and through the process of editing, mixing and EQing phases, and into mastering.
With Dan sharing his screen so you can see the software making changes live, the class will focus on an excerpt of Brahms’ String Quartet No. 1, Allegro – the first track on Spektral’s upcoming double-album, Experiments in Living – to show you the myriad choices that go into even just a handful of measures of music.
