Maintaining a performing community like an open mic in an online format isn’t easy – but we’re giving it an admirable try. As a format, open mics are chaotic and beautiful and on our first night of “VOMing” we had folk duo We’re About 9 back-to-back with hip hop artist Chuck the Madd Ox – and where else can that happen? Every Monday night from 7-10pm ET “rob’s open mics” presents a VIRTUAL open mic. Signup in advance at rob@ilyaimy.com. 2 pieces / 10 minutes whichver’s shorter. No hate speech. rob will also happily schedule streaming and equipment consults because he tries to make it a good SHOW as well as a good way to get it all out.
