We have a handful of pre-conference events coming up, from networking sessions to summits. These events offer guidance in preparing for our 2022 conference, bring together folks with disabilities who work in the music industry, connect artists and folk DJs, and offer one-on-one industry meetings. Insider’s Guide to the Conference Webinar

Wondering how you can prepare for our conference in Kansas City this May? Join us for this informational webinar, where you’ll learn the ins and outs of Folk Alliance International’s 2022 Conference. Learn how to prepare for the conference with practical tips, information about programming and events at the conference, and more. Have other questions about the conference this May? Bring them for a Q&A throughout the webinar. This informational webinar is open to everyone.

Centering Disability Summit

Facilitated by Adam PerryThe Centering Disability in the Music Industry Summit is a half-day online convening bringing together folks with disabilities who work in the music industry and or belong to the folk music community.  Participants will have the opportunity to discover some of the programs and organizations making advances in the field of disability inclusion; to examine and reflect upon how recently collected data provides a framework for a more committed reckoning with disability equity in the sector; and finally to co-create a concrete message that offers a road-map for a multi-directional pathway of activation, coalition-building and celebration of disability culture.  

Please note: This session is intended exclusively for folks with disabilities who work in the music industry.

 

Folk DJs Unlocked

Folk DJs Unlocked was a well-loved event during last year’s virtual conference, and this year we’re bringing it back! Artists (who are registered for our 2022 conference), sign up in advance to get a chance to be randomly selected to pitch yourself during this live session on April 28 with the folk DJs. Up to 50 artists will be selected. Artists who are not selected will have their information from the submission form passed to the folk DJs following the event. Folk DJs (who are registered for our 2022 conference) can sign up here.

Please note: Anyone can attend this session. Artist and folk DJ submissions are exclusively for registrants of FAI’s 2022 conference. 

One-on-One Meetings 

Recurring: April 26 | May 3 | May 6 | May 10

One-on-One Networking meetings are a series of 8-minute sessions that pair registered FAI conference attendees with industry delegates. Individuals who are registered for our 2022 conference are welcome to sign up for these brief meetings where they can share their work and make valuable connections.
