Registration Check-In Onsite & Hotel Tips
- When you arrive at the Sheraton, stop by Registration to pick up your badge. Registration will be in Hémon—Level A (one floor below the lobby) and opens on 11 a.m. Our kiosks are self-service, so simply enter your name and print your badge.
- Volunteers will be on hand to help with lanyards and wristbands. Your wristbands are your ticket, and your badge lets everyone know who you are. Try to arrive early if you don’t want to miss any programming on Wednesday!
- An important note about elevators: From around 9:30pm-11:00pm each night the elevators will stop on Level 4 to deliver folks to the Private Showcase floors on 7-8-9 & 10, then return to Level 4. You will not be able to get to the Private Showcase floors from the lower floors during this time window.
International Folk Music Awards Reception and Ceremony
The Opening Reception sponsored by Folk Canada will be held in the Level 4 Foyer beginning at 5pm. The awards ceremony will take place directly following at 6pm in West - Level 4, with live performances from Gina Chavez & Rose Cousins, Julian Taylor, Le Vent du Nord, and the FAI House Band. A live stream of the IFMAs will be available on our YouTube channel beginning at 6pm.
First-Timers Orientation
We have a lot of first time attendees at this year’s conference, which is fantastic! We know the event can be overwhelming with so much to do and see, and so many people to meet. We encourage first-timers to attend the First-Timer's Orientation sponsored by Grassy Hill in Salon ABC - Level B at 3pm. Get tips on how to approach your first Folk Alliance and bring all your questions.
Official Showcases Start at 8:15pm Tonight
The music never stops! And it starts tonight following the IFMAs at various locations throughout the hotel, with over 20 artists performing on day one in the Official Showcase rooms. Private Showcases follow on the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th floors starting at 10pm. (See the important note about elevators above.)
